The easiest way to help us is just to buy something from our food vans when you see them at public events
Containers for Change
Recycle your cans and bottles and donate the proceeds to us:
- Visit Containers for Change or install the app Containers for Change QLD on your phone
- Create your account. This will generate your member number
- Nominate Tewantin Noosa Lions as you chosen charity
- If you don’t already know your nearest recycling location then look it up on the app
- Collect all the cans and bottles that show the 10c refund (note that all bottles are accepted, but nothing that previously contained food)
- Take them to the recycling location and give your member number to donate the proceeds to us
If you would like to help more why not consider joining us? We are a friendly bunch so feel free to speak to anyone you see with a Lions logo. We can give you an idea of what we do, and suggest you come along to one of our meetings to check us out in person. Alternatively yo can email us at tewantinnoosa.qld@lions.org.au. If you do decide to join just remember that there is no obligation or pressure on members to do anything they don’t want to. You can be involved as much or as little as you want.
What’s the benefit of joining? The biggest reward is the self-satisfaction that you are doing something to help those less fortunate than you. You will also gain lots of friends and join in social activities. There is also the reassurance that you are part of a worldwide organisation with 1.4 million members in 55,000 clubs. Each club is autonomous but abides by the common ethics.
